These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the InsightLens mobile application ("App") and website at insightlens.dev ("Site"). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms.

1. Description of Service

InsightLens is a food label scanning app that uses AI to extract ingredient lists from food product labels and compare them against a user-defined list of ingredients to avoid ("Red Flags"). The App is provided on a freemium basis — certain features require a Premium subscription.

2. Not Medical or Dietary Advice

InsightLens is an informational tool only. The App does not provide medical, dietary, allergy, or nutritional advice. Results should not be relied upon as a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider for questions about allergies, dietary restrictions, or health conditions.

AI-based ingredient extraction may contain errors. Ingredients may be missed, misread, or incorrectly matched. You are responsible for verifying the accuracy of scan results before making purchasing decisions.

3. Accuracy Disclaimer

The App uses AI models to read food labels. Accuracy may be affected by label quality, lighting, image clarity, and label format. We make no warranties regarding the completeness or accuracy of extracted ingredient lists or Red Flag matches.

4. Premium Subscriptions

InsightLens Premium is available as a monthly or annual auto-renewing subscription. Subscriptions are managed through Apple App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android).

• Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
• You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your device's App Store or Google Play account settings
• Refunds are subject to Apple's or Google's refund policies
• Free tier limits (scan quota and Red Flag count) apply to non-Premium users

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the App
• Use automated tools to make excessive requests to our servers
• Attempt to circumvent subscription or rate limiting mechanisms

6. Intellectual Property

All content, trademarks, and code in the App and on the Site are owned by InsightLens. You may not reproduce or redistribute any part of the App or Site without written permission.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, InsightLens and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to health consequences resulting from reliance on scan results.

8. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance. We will update the "Last updated" date above when changes are made.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
